I remember the day he came
flowers and love song
soft lullaby to the ears

I distinctly remember his hug
safe and sound
in the middle of the night

I vividly remember his kiss
warm and tender
upon my lips

I cherish our laughter
the jokes we shared together
every new day was merrier

I recall the sad times
the pain and frustration
took away the time, wasted to oblivion

I barely recall the anger
full of spite and suspicion
eyes filled with tears

I remember the day he went away
hearts were broken
no words left to say

Here I sit alone today
reminiscing the old sweet way
gentle as the breeze that makes the trees sway

Here I stand alone today
waiting for another to come my way
for this time I vow it'll forever stay
