Everywhere around her was light. Blinding white light. Am I dead? She asked herself. But no answer came from within. She put her hand to the front. She couldn’t see further than that.
She turned around and around. From afar she could hear the sound of soft music. Beautiful composed lullaby. She felt sleepy suddenly. She tried to keep her eyes open. But it was hard. Her almond shaped eyes started to shut slowly. Suddenly a piercing scream could be heard from the opposite direction of the music.
Her eyes snapped open. Her heart started to beat faster. And faster. Even more faster. She was torn between wanting to follow the path of the beautiful enchanting sound, or to run as fast as the wind is blowing to the direction of the scream. Someone is in trouble. She couldn’t make out if it was a man, or a woman. The romantic nurturing woman in her demanded her hands to sway to the music. But the warrior in her demanded her legs to move to the scream.
In her indecisive state, she closed her eyes, and looked with her heart. Her intuition has always been her best tool in deciding. It had assisted her countless time before and she knew the power was not yet lost. When she finally opened her eyes, what could be just few seconds, her choice had been made.
The peach cream silk wrap around her body had changed to a rugged garb of leather, a little sexy to the eyes because of her natural curves, a sword swinging on her left waist and a set of arrows in her backpack. She clasped her bow firmly. She could feel the blessed curved blade at her ankle. Her necklace of red stone, power pulsing from it, shone just a little too brightly than before.
The air around her had changed. What was white light before, were now the absence of light. Total darkness surrounded her being. It seemed to be creeping slowly into her heart. Somehow the red-hot light from her locket blended and mystically shone a white light showing the dark path in front of her.
The painful screaming continued. She quickened her pace following her heart. A low growling can be heard now. She figured it was from behind her. But she couldn’t be too sure. She wanted to reach the distress call as fast as she could. The growl seemed a little closer, so does the cry for help. She could be sure now, that the scream came from a woman.
All around her became hot. She could smell her own sweat. Her wavy hair seemed to come off its bound. She swept the strands that fell down to the side of her eyes away. She could see now, in the distant, a shape taking a form. Of a woman. Her hands and legs seemed to be bound to the wall behind her. She couldn’t see clearly her face yet. So she stepped closer.
She could see that the woman was wearing a necklace too. A necklace that had a red stone attached to it as the locket. But the stone seemed to be… dead. It may be, un-dead, because she seemed to feel it pulsing, but there is no shine from it. Her own heart started to beat crazily fast. The woman head was bent down. She couldn’t see the face. The wavy hair looked so very familiar to her.
Suddenly the woman raised her head slowly. Only a distress murmur could be heard, almost can be mistaken for the sound of fury around her. When she finally looked straight ahead, she was taken aback. She took a step back. Her brows showed the confusion she was feeling. She was looking at her own face…
